You know you want to do things differently, but in the moment, the automatic reaction just takes over.
Maybe you recognise yourself in some of these?
Overthinking until you feel overwhelmed or stuck.
Doubting your decisions & obsessing over making the “right” choice.
Saying yes to things when you actually want to say no.
Reaching for food, alcohol, scrolling or shopping when stressed or emotions feel uncomfortable.
Falling into old familiar relationship dynamics, even when you want something different.
Pushing yourself until you’re exhausted, and wondering why you can’t just rest.
Knowing your triggers but still feeling high-jacked by them when they happen.
These patterns don't just show up in our personal lives either.
They can also influence how we show up in our work or business through the ways we make decisions, communicate boundaries, and navigate conflict.
Pushing through or holding things in until you shut down, snap or react in ways you regret.

Somatic therapy is an approach that includes your emotional and bodily experience as part of the therapeutic process.
Rather than only talking about or analysing a pattern, we can also explore what happens emotionally and physically when that pattern is activated. Depending on what arises, this might involve emotions, memories, beliefs, physical sensations and the ways you’ve learned to respond to particular experiences.
The aim isn’t to eliminate difficult emotions, but to develop greater awareness and capacity around what you experience, which can create more space for you to choose how you respond.
-
No. You don’t need previous therapy experience or an existing understanding of somatic work.
Many of the women I work with are already very self-aware and have explored therapy, personal development or other forms of inner work, but this isn’t a requirement. We’ll work with wherever you are now.
-
It’s completely understandable to feel nervous about beginning therapy, particularly when you’re talking about things that feel personal or vulnerable.
You don’t need to arrive knowing exactly what to say or where to begin. We can take time to get to know each other, discuss what’s bringing you to therapy and work at a pace that takes your individual circumstances into account.
-
No. You won’t be required to disclose or revisit experiences before you’re ready.
Somatic therapy can involve working with memories or past experiences when relevant, but we can also work with what is happening for you in the present. You can ask questions, provide feedback or let me know if something doesn’t feel right at any point.
-
You don’t have to perform therapy “correctly.”
If you notice yourself becoming overwhelmed, shutting down or finding something difficult, that can become part of what we pay attention to together. We can slow down, pause or adjust what we’re doing rather than pushing through an experience.
-
No. You will never be pushed to revisit anything you’re not ready for. We focus on building safety and capacity first. You are always in charge.
-
We begin with a three-week introductory series, giving us an opportunity to start exploring what’s bringing you to therapy and experience working together.
After the introductory series, ongoing therapy is offered as a six-month therapeutic engagement, with sessions either once or twice monthly depending on what we agree is appropriate for you.
At approximately three months, we’ll review how the work is progressing, what you’re noticing and your priorities for the remainder of our work.
-
There isn’t a set number of sessions that can guarantee a particular outcome because everyone’s therapeutic process is different.
For this reason and because the patterns we work with have often formed over a life time, I work within a structured therapeutic term rather than approaching somatic therapy as a one-off session. We begin with the three-week introductory series, followed by the six-month term if we decide to continue working together.
-
If you’re self-aware but still find yourself stuck in familiar cycles… if you’re tired of fighting yourself internally… this work may resonate. The best way to know is to book a discovery call and see how it feels to chat about it.
-
Sessions are currently offered online Australia wide via Google meet, to increase flexibility and accessibility. So you can attend from your own private and comfortable space.
-
We begin with a 3 week introductory series of 3x sessions for $660 AUD total. (This can be paid as 3x $220 weekly payments if needed).
If we decide to continue working together after the introductory series, ongoing therapy is offered as a six-month therapeutic term.
Depending on the level of support and session frequency we agree is appropriate for you, (1x session or 2x sessions per month) the investment is either $220 or $440 AUD per month.
We’ll discuss the details and options together after your third session so you understand the structure and can decide whether continuing feels right for you.
How we move you from only understanding your patterns to responding differently.
We don’t just explore why the pattern exists.
We work with what happens when it’s triggered and explore new ways to approach it;
1.
Finding a Steady Foundation.
Before we begin exploring difficult emotions or patterns, we focus on “resourcing”. We cultivate a sense of steadiness and support that you can return to throughout our work together.
We’ll explore what helps you feel grounded, present and connected, both within sessions and in your everyday life, so we have a supportive foundation to work from as the work unfolds.
You’ll start practising and using this skill outside of sessions from day one.
2.
Exploring Patterns
& Capacity.
From that foundation, we can begin exploring what happens when familiar patterns are activated and not only what you do, but what’s happening for you emotionally and in your body.
Together, we might explore the emotions, sensations, beliefs, memories or experiences connected to the pattern, while increasing your capacity to stay present with what arises rather than immediately escaping, suppressing or becoming overwhelmed by it.
3.
Increased Awareness, Connection & Choice.
As your awareness and capacity grow, there can be more space between what you experience and how you respond.
Rather than automatically falling into a familiar response, you have more opportunity to notice what’s happening, stay connected to yourself and choose how you want to respond in your relationships, habits, boundaries and everyday life.
Ready to explore what this could look like for you?
Hi - I’m Chelsea,
Through online trauma-informed somatic therapy, I support self-aware women who know their patterns but still find themselves stuck in them despite their insight.
I often work with what lives in the space between knowing how you want to behave and being able to respond that way when it matters.
My approach connects insight and embodied exploration, with skills and tools to work with the feelings, beliefs, memories, identities and patterns that may be influencing your behaviour. Moving forward, this creates more options for how you respond in moments when you’re old pattern or response is triggered.
Certified Embodied Processing Practitioner.
Trauma-informed, somatic approach.
Additional studies and ongoing professional development in Counselling and trauma-informed modalities (IFS, Compassionate Inquiry and Parts Work).
