Full Bloom

It grows wild.
With its fireworks of foliage,
busting out
in any which way.

It’s delicate
paper-like petals bloom,
protected
by a mass of thorns.

It pleases itself.

Without a pardon
Or excuse me,

Is this space taken?

Can I thrive here?

I want to be more.
Like that bougainvillea.
